THE ENERGY WARS (2005)
The Energy Wars (2005) was created as a contribution to Fossil Fools, an artist collective creating mixed-media installations and performances designed to heighten awareness of our dependence on non-renewable energy sources. The piece consists of both a sound and video installation (which uses solar energy as its power source). The Energy Wars is a collage of found sounds and field recordings of nonrenewable and sustainable energy resources. The work uses generators, solar panels, turntables and electronics. The first performance took place at the Select Media Festival 4 in Chicago, Illinois. It was also installed as part of the "Fossil Fools" exhibit at the University of Northern Iowa, 2006. 12-minute loop.
